Button Name : IFrame.

Action and use: Iframe creates a window on your site that allows you to display,

a. any remote website (live) on the web. or
b. remotely hosted images that are too big to display on a page (because an iframe window box will scroll in all directions).
c. a remotely hosted webpage, which might be a large document that you want to show in your book.

How to use it.. when you click the iframe button:

it will insert this code.

Quote:
<div class="center"><iframe src="http://replace this with website url" width="680" height="500" scrolling="yes"></iframe></div>

Simply paste in the website url (address), replacing the instructional text.

If you are using Iframe on a narrow book page adjust the width to 320. The way the code is set is for display in your special gallery chapters where the pages are wider.

Aligning an iframe. If an iframe is the width of the page you don't need to align it. If you have the width set to less than your page, you can use the Center and Right align button to position it where you want it to be. Just select all of the inserted code (after you have completed it with the web address and made width adjustments) and click the appropriate Button to align (Right or Center).

More explanation about iframe

Iframe will allow you some flexibility for display that other ways can't --IFrame may be a button but I think it is also a concept that needs explaining.

Large documents and groups of images are often better displayed in scrolling windows.

Iframe is merely a window to the web. In other words, it shows a webpage somewhere on the web in a page on your website.

And while your Write and Show program lets you put images and documents inside posts (pages) sometimes the display becomes cumbersome and too lengthy.

There are several ways iframe can be employed:

1. Your own custom webpages -You can create simple webpages (just using your notepad program) that will show what you want on a single page which is then hosted remotely and then viewed in a post using the iframe feature.

a. This requires some effort on the author's part, but it produces independent (from your book) remote linkable pages which you can provide links to in your book.

b. This requires use of a service like Yahoo briefcase (or competitive service) although it is quite easy to use and very reliable.

2. Existing webpages Pages anywhere on the web can be shown in a scrolling window.

3. Large photos, images of document, too large for a book page. Can be hosted anywhere (like Photobucket) and shown in an <iframe>.

4. Pdf files Can be hosted on a remote website. Can also be hosted on an account like. Yahoo briefcase.

Detailed step by step instructions follow.
