|
Button name: Hide
Button feature or effect: Sometimes a page is tediously long because you want information which needs to appear as succession or followup to text shown previously on the page. The "Hide" feature lets you keep that information hidden until someone is ready to read it. In the place where you want following material to be hidden just click the hide button. It will put a tiny bit of code on the page like this:
Then continue putting below that any further information you want your readers to be able to have revealed. After the page is saved to the book. At the location where you clicked "Hide" this appears as a link:
Quote: |
Click for more of this page.
use back button to return |
When the reader clicks that link... they will see the entire page (with all of the previously hidden material) on a special page in wide page format. There are more instructions there for the reader to click the browser back button to return to the book page.
This is a nice feature that lets you have detailed information in your book (which might othewise upset the flow of your text) without the needless clutter. After someone has read a transcript or some refererence material, there next time through they won't need to click to see the hidden text (because they are familar with it) and the reader's experience is heightened. |
