Windows Built in Screen Capture Feature
For making a picture of something on a webpage. You have a built in feature in Windows (all versions) that is very fast.
You have two choices, simply tapping the PrtScr key (stand for Print Screen) or using Alt PrtScr. PrtScr captures your entire computer screen. Alt PrtScr just captures your curent window (the window where your cursor focus is currently). We prefer using the Alt PrtScr, because it lets you minimize the amount of the capture and produces a more manageable picture to work with.
How to Capture
A. Just adjust a window to the size of what you want to capture (make sure what you are wanting to take a picture is showing in the window.
B. Then while holding down the Alt key, tap the PrtScr key.
C. That entire window is now in your clipboard. The rest of your computer screen is not captured. If you had wanted to capture all of your computer screen, use the PrtScr key alone (without holding down the Alt key).
D. Launch Paint or WebOptimizer. Click File, then, New (to start a new file).
E. Click Edit, then, Paste.
F. Cut it... resize it (whatever you wish)... save it as a jpg or gif (gif is clearer in WebOptimizer, jpg about the same for either). |
